September 6, 2008 - TEST THIS WEEKEND PRIOR TO NEXT WEEKEND'S PLANNED CHANGE OVER TO TERMINAL SERVER 2008

August 13, 2008 - Sybase has fixed the compatability issue regarding printing from Terminal Server 2008.
Please begin upgrading your computers to Windows XP service Pack 3 and .NET 3.5 as described below.

There are 3 sections below - Issues, Printing Upgrade, and Login Instructions

Issues - These ONLY apply to the new Terminal Server 2008 computer which is currently not in use.

  • An issue between AIM and the new Terminal Server 2008 printing system that is causing the reports to either be totally blank or only print the footer information. I will be contacting Microsoft for assistance with this issue today. This issue is only happening when the Terminal Server uses the new printing feature. Some printers do not use this system to print and are working correctly. - Corrected 8/13/2008
  • Print to email has been disabled due an incompatability between the PDF driver and Windows Server 2008. A potential lternative driver has been found but must now be incorporated into AIM.
  • Beeping comming from the system - low priority - initial trials failed to resolve the issue.
  • Screen Locks after 10 minutes of inactivity - Potential Fix Posted June 26 10:04am
  • Export Report is not finding the e-mail server - Fix Posted June 26 7:52am

Printing Upgrade - It is still a good idea to upgrade to these versions in anticipation of the Terminal Server 2008's return.
ONLY if you can not print to any printer please perform the following upgrades to your system:

Windows XP: Updated June 26 10:49am
  1. Upgrade to Service Pack 3 by visiting the Check for Updates in Internet Explorer (click this link) - If you have trouble getting the service pack from the Microsoft Update site you can manually download the Service Pack 3 File (click this link)
  2. Download and install the .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1(click this link) from Microsoft's Web Site.
    Other Operating Systems: General Guidelines
  1. Download and install the latest updates for your operating system from Microsoft
  2. Download and install the .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1(click this link) from Microsoft's Web Site.
All printers should now show up.
